Hi everyone! How are you doing? Looking for fresh music to fill up your day? I think i’ve got some for you~ Here we go ;)

The first one is ELIZA DOOLITTLE. Yup, she’s a new british singer with pop-folk-happy camper songs. Eliza Sophie Caird (born 15 April 1988), better known by her stage name Eliza Doolittle, is an English singer/songwriter from London, who signed to theParlophone record label in October 2008.

Her debut self-titled album, Eliza Doolittle was released on 12 July 2010, where it debuted at number 3 in the UK. Since the album’s release, Doolittle has spawned two top 25 hits, including “Skinny Genes” and “Pack Up”, which debuted within the top 5 on the UK Singles chart. If you like ‘happy’ songs that can accompany you during your activity with a touch of folk, you’ll love her. And here’s the video for her single “Skinny Genes’

The second one is CODY SIMPSON. He’s an Australian youtube kid that just start making a debut on 2010. Some people compare him to other popular youtube phenomenon Justin Bieber, but i think his style is a bit different. His personal style is the “australian-surfer boy” type who likes to surf and play along the beach. Not that ‘hip-hop diva’ like Justin.

Cody was born on January 11, 1997. Yes, he’s only 14 years old but he is so tall! He came from Queenslans, Australia but currently signed to the US recording label Atlantic Records. He has 1 EP titled ’4U’ and 2 singles titled ‘Iyiyi (featuring Flo Rida)’ and ‘Summertime’. The year he released his single, he also won the Nickelodeon Autralia Kids Choice Awards as Fresh Aussie Mussos. Isn’t that just amazing? Bieber, you better watch out ;D

Isn’t he cute? LOL and here’s the vid of Cody’s single ‘IyiYi’. Douzo!

Happy listening y’all!

Jakarta’s commuting issues.

Folks! Well, I’m actually running out of ideas, so for now I’ll be just posting about something off topic. Something that you guys must have been through all the time. Something that piss you off the most about living in this capital.

So, how often do you see this picture happening in real life?

YES! Million times, I bet. Especially if you live in Jakarta, this is something that goes on everyday. It happens when you go to school or work, when you get back home, when you’re in a rush catching a class on campus, when you have to meet your colleagues at lunch, when you’re having an appointment with someone, when it’s raining heavily. Well, traffic jam has been one of commuting issues now considering it happens nearly every time. Cars and motor vehicles’ population increased every year making a large number of vehicles operating in the streets –> causing an unsolvable traffic jam.

The citizens have been much appealed for using public transportation such as busway or Patas AC for commuting daily, but since the condition of the transportation itself is not fine and save, people mostly choose to use their own cars or motorcycles if possible. And eventually, using public transportation doesn’t guarantee you avoided from the jam.

In fact, public transportation is becoming the real problem for commuters instead of helping them. Take metromini as an example, the people of this city should have known how much they pollute Jakarta and corrupt the streets. And using busway is no longer the most effective solution to avoid traffic jam because cars are becoming so selfish and shameless for using the track.

But! Now people are seeking for a healthier way, a better condition where you can commute without polluting and the most important is you don’t have to be afraid of being stuck in the jam. That is……

YEAH! Biking is now becoming a top trend among many people. Adults start to bike when they go to work and students do the same when they go to school –even they don’t do it every day, that still is a good start– and there’s this car free day at Senayan where there is no car in the streets and you can bike from 6-9 am so happily with no pollution at all!

Well, that can be something to recommend, then. You know, biking :) Good start for young folks :)

Cheers! G

Hakuna Matata!

"Hakuna Matata, What a wonderful phrase

Hakuna matata, Ain’t no passing craze

It means no worries for the rest of your days

It’s our problem-free philosophy”

Yes, i’m going to tell you about a highly-recommend musical. It’s LION KING THE MUSICAL. They debuted their first show in West End Lyncheum Theatre on 1999 and it still running. Now, you dont have to go that far to watch the play. Marina Bay Sands company bring the musical production to Singapore, from March 2011 to May 2011. The musical is based on the 1994 Disney animated film with the same name. You might think it will be ridiculous if people wear animal costumes, singing and dancing. But if you watch this play, you’ll see how amazing people can “move” the jungle to the stage. Men walking in huge elephant costumes, dancing along with the ‘birds’ and ‘deers’. Walking along the savannah, fall from a cliff, chased by buffalos, everything looks so real. The Lighting is also amazing. You’ll see how it changes from day to night and reverse. Lion King the Musical has great music. They use real live band and orchestra, and no lipsync during the play. But all you’ll gonna hear is clear sounds just like a cd. Amazing!

If you are interested to watch this musical, you need to pay from S$65 to S$240 according the seat. It’s quiet expensive, but in my opinion it worth it.

And here is the pictures from the venue (Marinabaysands theatre) and the crowd. Too bad we are not allowed to take pictures during the play, so i’ll give you the teaser video instead ;)

Cheers y’all

must-seen this year.

So, this is another good stuff we’d like to share! Have you seen? You must have heard of this since this was released in 2008, so it’s not a new released nor a coming soon movie but –again– since this movie is beyond good we don’t bother to share. The Red Baron‘s telling a story about the most feared and celebrated pilot of the German air force in World War I named Baron Manfred von Richthofen –hard to pronounce. He is so dedicated, to him and his companions, air combats are events of sporty nature, technical challenge and honorable acting, ignoring the terrible extent of war. Then he falls in love with nurse Kate and what happen following that? You need to find out yourselves :)

Then we have another good stuff called Rio, which is an upcoming 3-D animation feature from the makers of ‘Ice Age’. This comedy-adventure centers on Blu, a rare macaw from Minnesota who thinks he is the last of his kind. Then he finds out that there’s another, he leaves his comfort cage in Minnesota and heads to Rio de Janeiro to meet another kind of his, the independent, high-flying female named Jewel. Rio’s portraying a story about an adventure, love and friendship. But what the movie entirely tells, you’re going to have to find out on April 2011 in which it’s going to be released. Rio’s expected to be one of the most-watched movie this year.

And yes!!!!! I bet you all have been waiting to see this Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2! It’s going to be released on July 15th 2011. Staring Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint this Part 2 will probably be converted to 3D considering Part 1 missed out on it. Harry, Hermione and Ron go back to school to destroy Voldemort’s final horcruxes, but when Voldemort finds out their mission the biggest battle begins and what happens following that will possibly be the ending of the whole Harry Potter story.

The last one is Hugo Cabret! Directed by Martin Scorsese and starring Asa Butterfield, Jude Law, Chloe Moretz, Sacha Baron Cohen and Ben Kingsley. The film tells about a 12-year-old orphan named Hugo who’s living a secret life in the walls of a Paris train station. But when his world suddenly interlocks with an eccentric girl and the owner of a small toy booth in the station, his secret and anonymous life are put in jeopardy. This, too, is considered as the most expected movie in 2011. So, fulfil your expectation on December 9th this year and figure out!

Happy watching, readers! :)

So, you all must have heard about the massive 8.9-magnitude earthquake that hit Japan causing tsunami just about a week ago. That was one of the biggest disaster this year and considered bigger than the one happened in Aceh a few years ago. Cars, ships and other vehicles were swept away and more than 4000 houses lost power and the bullet train were stop functioning temporarily. I was watching the news about this and seeing how Japanese are so calm and snappy. The tsunami attack was so super but they made it up efficiently. I believe it’s just a matter of time before they recover and be strong again. Because what they said in the news, now it’s not only about recovering from the tsunami, they are facing nuclear radiation crisis that was caused by the previous tsunami.

Well, Japan made 85% of tools we are using now, so let’s pray for them :)

what you need to read.

Fellows! So, since we are here to recommend you good stuffs –but, of course not only that– this time I have some good books to share. I have read them all and they’re all good. Inspiring, they give you a new viewpoint about how to look into life. Here we go!

This is a domestic masterpiece written by Ahmad Fuadi. Tells a story about 6 bestfriends named Alif, Raja, Said, Dulmajid, Atang and Baso, united by an accidental punishment. Alif was born in Minangkabau and never have seen any other places aside from his hometown. Shortly, his mother wanted him to be ‘Buya Hamka’ but Alif himself wanted to be ‘Habibie’ instead, but Alif eventually did what his mother said. So, he was sent to a boarding school in East Java which most people call it as pesantren, and this was where he met the other 5 boys whom later became his bestfriends. The book entirely tells us  about their daily lives in the school, how they break the rules together, how they speak their dreams and hang in so tight to it. It was simple yet so meaningful.

Then I have another book. You can tell how popular this book just by seeing the author’s name. Yes, Haruki Murakami, a prominent figure in literature. Norwegian Wood tells a story about a college freshman named Toru Watanabe who looks back on his days as a freshman university student living in Tokyo. Through Toru’s reminiscences we see him develop relationships with two very different women — the beautiful yet emotionally troubled Naoko, and the outgoing, lively Midori. There are other characters like Kizuki (Toru and Naoko’s bestfriend who died in suicide), Storm Trooper (Toru’s roommate), Reiko Ishida (Naoko’s friend in sanatorium) and many other characters who complete the story. The ending of the story is never actually revealed and that is where Murakami once again shows his competence. Norwegian Wood will give you a perspective that life is not all normal, that we can live life in a very very atypical way.

So, those books are what I would like to share to you readers. You just should read them, I got distracted for a whole week when I read those two. I was amazed.

Cheers, mate! :)

I have never watched Thailand movie before, so I don’t know it’s good or not. But after I watch these movies, here’s the thing I want to tell you: YOU HAVE TO WATCH THESE MOVIES! it’s a MUST. okay so I’m going to tell you the synopsis. here goes;

A Crazy Little Thing Called Love

There’s a girl named Nam who is desperately in love with her handsome and very kind senior named Shone. This girl, Nam (I’m so sorry to tell this but..) is ugly not beautiful. Nam is not clever, not a jenius. She lives with her mother and sister. Her father works in America and unfortunately she hasn’t met him since 5 years ago. Nam misses his father very much. Because of the expensive ticket to America, Nam has to get the first rank in her school, so she could study in America and stays with her father.

Lucky Nam! She has 3 friends who love Nam very much. And they help Nam to be beautiful in order to take Shone’s heart. But beautiful is not enough for Nam. She studies hard and joins some clubs such as Drama and Marching Band. With the beautiful, smart, and talented Nam, the boys suddenly ‘look’ at her, including the new handsome student in their school. The new student, Top, is Shone’s bestfriend since kindergarten, and in their 5th grade, Shone and Top promised to each other that they will never fall in love with the same girl.

After a few days, this new student propose his love to Nam, and asks her to be his girl friend.

So, what will happen next?
Hahahahaha! I will not spoil the whole thing to you. Just watch this movie! you’re going to like it ;)

Hello Stranger

The last one is Hello Stranger. It’s about a girl and a boy from Thailand who meet by coincidence while on vacation in South Korea. The boy bought two tickets for him-self and his girl friend to South Korea, but he broke up with his girl friend because he was not ready yet to marry her. And the girl, also broke up with her boy friend because he is too annoying. Then the broken hearts who meet by coincidence decide to tour Korea together while keeping their names secret from each other.

They spend the days together without knowing each other’s name, but actually they know each other very well. They talk about anything, including their personal life and secrets. They don’t realize that that they fell in love with each other until they separate.

In the last day of their vacation, the boy suddenly meet his ex-girlfriend. And she asks him to be together again.

What is he going to do then?
Stick the broken pieces or make the new one?

Well. Overall these movies is 9 out of 10. I recommend these romantic comedy movies to all the readers. Please, enjoy! :D
